Biogas Seminar and Plant Study Tour
Kemble nr Cirencester

On-Farm Anaerobic Digestion Biogas Plant
The Kemble Biogas plant uses on-farm cow slurry, maize and glycerol to run a 300Kw Combined Heat & Power Engine running 24/7. The site is a good example of on-farm AD Biogas and is an interesting case study. The plant operator will be at the seminar and plant tour to answer your questions.
The aim of the Seminar and plant tour is to inform attendees of the latest technical and legislative situations. A major theme of the day is analysing if on-Farm Biogas is a profitable venture in the short to medium term. We will also be looking at the equipment side of Biogas, CHP and connections to the National Grid. The Environment Agency will be at the event to discuss the new AD Plant permitting regime.

Biogas Study Tour
Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire

Visit a new 1 MW Biogas Plant using crops and waste food as the feedstocks. Innovative food pasteuriser on site. This site, built by MT Energie on the Northwick Estate in Moreton-in-Marsh is a great example of the emerging Biogas on-farm and food waste AD facilities in the UK.
Plant operator and equipment suppliers will be on site to answer questions and give information on how the project moved from conception to reality. Moreton-in-Marsh is an area of outstanding beauty and many EA considerations as well as grid connection hurdles had to be overcome

Launch of the South-West Clean-tech Co-investment Fund

The Fund provides a co-investment of up to £100,000 to businesses based in the South West which are carrying out an eligible clean-tech activity. The investment provided by the Fund will be made as a loan of up to five years and will be dependent upon the involvement of an experienced Key-stone Business Angel Investor with relevant industry or market knowledge who is investing equity into the company.
The launch will provide an opportunity for you to meet the partners involved in this initiative and to learn more about the detailed operation of the Fund. There will also be an opportunity to put questions to our panel.

EBEC Study Tour: Biomass 1

Visit a wood chipping facility and local school where the wood chip is consumed in a 500 KW Biomass Boiler. An innovative school where several large scale heat stores are utilised to maximise delivery. Wood Chip is stored on site and augered into the Econergy 500KW Wood Chip Biomass Boiler.
Biomass Boiler manufacturer representative as well as the school Facility Manager will be on hand to give a guided tour of the process and answer any questions you may have. Gain from their experience and learn what teething problems they have had to overcome along the way.
This Tour will take 2 hours Max. Leaving Stoneleigh Park outside EBEC at 11.00am each day.

EBEC Study Tour: Biomass 2
Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire

Visit a local agri-business that has diversified into biomass. The company produces a substantial tonnage of biomass pellets, predominantly made from miscanthus. Also on site is a biomass boiler which utilises the pellets produced.
Learn from the owner and operator of the site how they built the plant and how they have achieved large-scale production.
The tour also includes a visit to "Miscanthus Valley" to see the crop growing.
This Tour will take 2 hours Max. Leaving Stoneleigh Park outside EBEC at 2.00pm each day.

Study tour of Biodiesel Production facility
Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire

Visit a Biodiesel production facility approximately 20 minutes from Stoneleigh Park. The Tour will look at all aspects of batched biodiesel production. The base feedstock is used cooking oil - UCO. Total production is currently 30,000 Litres/week with plannned production increases to 50,000 Litres/week. Biodiesel purification via a dry wash ion exchange resin.
The plant operator will be on hand to give a guided tour of the process and answer any questions you have.
This Tour will take 2 hours Max. Leaving Stoneleigh Park outside EBEC at 11.30am on Wednesday 6th October
